Bar Refaeli showed off her sexy side in the German edition of GQ magazine, even though the Israeli model may have risked the ire of some in her home country because of the Holocaust during World War II. But she vows to never forget.
Refaeli has been an international model for more than a decade, so traveling around the world is just part of the job.
But she’s also conscious of her past. On Holocaust Memorial Day in April, she tweeted: “Honoring those who were lost. Respecting those who survived. Always remember and never forget!”
Although the remembrance is held at different times around the world, Israelis honor the memories of Holocaust victims and survivors on 27 Nisan, a month in the Jewish calendar associated with April.
It marks Warsaw Ghetto Uprising which began 13 days earlier and Israeli Independence Day which is eight days later.
Refaeli, 27, is Israel’s leading supermodel. She’s best known for her role as a Victoria’s Secret angel and her many appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. There isn’t much she hasn’t accomplished in the fashion world. In another coup, she was recently named the face of luxury jeweler Helvetian, which makes Piaget watches.
She traveled to Germany to accept the German edition of GQ magazine’s “Gentlewoman Of The Year 2012.” Photographer Simon Emmett captured her for the magazine’s spread in a series of revealing outfits.
