Amber Heard defies stereotypes.

Amber Heard defies stereotypes.

Amber Heard is a mass of contradictions. She’s the thinking man’s sex symbol, and a self-professed intellectual, even though she dropped out of high school. She’s wildly sexy, but don’t tell her that. She’ll reject any script that describes her as “beautiful,” “sexy,” or “hot.” Even though she’s all three.

So, call her the un-cola of Hollywood sex sirens.

Her beauty is undeniable; her sexuality breath-taking, but she’d rather talk about guns. “I was raised around guns,” the Texas native says in a new interview with Bullett magazine. “It’s not taboo where I come from.”

Her weapons of choice are a .357 Magnum and her vagina. Both are deadly. She shot from the hip at a GLADD convention in 2010 when she openly declared she was a lesbian–to her manager’s shock. She dated photographer Tasya van Ree for most of three years.

But for the past two she’s been seeing actor Johnny Depp and maybe a little of Tasya, too. She doesn’t care to discuss relationships. She met Depp on the set of their 2010 film “The Rum Diary,” while Depp was still with his long-time partner Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children.

“At the end of the day I’m playing romantic leads,” she says of her films. “But I’m trying to work with people who aren’t afraid of taking risks, challenging norms and collaborating with me as an artist.”

Which may explain her widely varying roles in her next two films. In “Paranoia,” with Liam Hemsworth, her character is a highly educated businesswoman who becomes embroiled in a high-stakes game of corporate espionage. In Robert Rodriguez’s new movie, “Machete Kills,” she plays a seductress and assassin.

Like we said, guns and vaginas… deadly. Check out her photos by Harper Smith. Styling by Jessica Bobince.

Footnote: Despite it’s name, Bullett is not about guns and ammo. It’s a chic, chic art, pop culture and fashion magazine. You can check it out here.
