Jessica Alba has just signed on to a new movie comedy called ‘Stretch.’
Alba, 32, is set to star with Patrick Wilson and Chris Pine in “Stretch,” an action comedy directed by Joe Carnahan, according to multiple news reports.
Her career is on the upswing since giving birth to Haven Garner Warren in 2011. It’s her second child with husband Cash Warren, whom she married in 2008. Their first child, Honor Marie Warren was born the same year.
While family life has taken up much of her time over the past two years, she took a role last year in “A.C.O.D.,” a comedy starring Amy Poehler and Adam Scott.

She lent her voice to the animated film “Escape from Planet Earth and re-upped for “Machete Kills,” a sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s first action exploitation film, 2010’s “Machete.” She’ll appear with Danny Trejo, Vanessa Hudgens, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara and Lady Gaga.
The first film caused some controversy for her because she appeared to be nude in a scene, after saying she would never take her clothes off on-screen. But she filmed the scene wearing a flesh-colored wrap that was later digitally removed.
Alba has said she wants to avoid being typecast as a sex kitten and still adheres to her no nude scene vow.
Next year, she’s lined up to appear in another sequel, “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,” which is in post-production, a film called “Dear Eleanor” and “Stretch,” which is about a limo driver who takes a bizarre ride with a billionaire client.
Alba has also delved into fashion. She’s a regular at fashion week shows in New York, London, Paris and Milan. She’s photographed by Eric Guillemain for her Times spread wearing Georgio Armani, Calvin Klein and Botega Venetta.
