Jason Statham rides into trouble when he moves to a small town dominated by a drug dealer in Homefront.

Jason Statham is back busting heads with James Franco, and Kate Bosworth in a new trailer for “Homefront,” a Gary Fleder action thriller about the drug trade.

Statham plays Phil Broker, a low level DEA agent, who’s content to lead a quiet life in a bucolic small town with his daughter.

Hardly sounds like a Statham character, but, hey, he’s got to start somewhere. Wouldn’t you know it, Broker has to step up big time when he runs into a band of band of drug traffickers, led by Gator, a meth kingpin.

Franco gets the call to play the drug lord. Wouldn’t you know it, after his off-the-charts portrayal of drug dealer and part-time rapper “Alien” in “Spring Breakers,” he’s probably getting a lot of scripts like this.

Statham goes to work on the gang after he moves his family to a small, bucolic town, only to discover that townsfolk are under Gator’s thumb. He crosses trails with the drug dealer when his bad-ass daughter whips up on one of the local kids at school.

Gator wants to send a message about messing with the wrong kid. He learns Broker is a DEA agent. All hell breaks loose when Gator decides to take him out. Seems like half the town is against Broker, but he doesn’t mind the odds.

The movie also stars Winona Ryder. Acting hero Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay an produced.

The R-rate film was pushed up to a Nov. 27, release date to catch the holiday season. It was originally slated for release next year.
