Portman, 32, exuded old-Hollywood glamour on the red carpet wearing a Christian Dior silver metallic printed skirt with a black long-sleeve top.
She was the epitome of sleekness with her hair pulled back in a simple ponytail and her makeup light and neutral in tone. She was joined by husband Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed her movie “The Black Swan.” They met on the set.
Portman is expected to pull up her Los Angeles roots later this year and move to Paris when Millepied takes over running the Paris Opera Ballet in 2014. They have one son together, Aleph Millepied-Portman.
Natalie plays Jane Foster and unassuming astrophysicist, who develops a mystical energy and is thrust into Thor home Asgard. She ends up falling for the Norse god.
Hemsworth, 30, wore a maroon suit and shirt with a black velvet vest. Among other stars who made the premiere were Tom Hiddleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård and Kat Dennings.
The movie is a follow-up to Marvel’s 2011 crossover blockbuster “The Avengers,” which features a number of comic book superheros including Thor. The Marvel character was introduced on the big screen in 2011 film “Thor.”
The picture opens Nov. 8 in the United States. Check out the photos and trailer below and follow TheImproper on Twitter to keep up with all the latest movie news and film premieres.
