Selena Gomez steps out of character to play steamy seductress.
She says she purposely doesn’t show every side of herself, otherwise “there’s nothing left for my friends, and there’s nothing left for my family,” she tells the magazine.
But she’s no shrinking violet. “I think you have to experience everything,” she adds. “It’s fun to completely go to the dark side.”
She’s picking her movie roles carefully. She and her mother watched every one of Harmony Korine’s movies before she decided to appear in “Spring Breakers.” The movie was the coming out party of sorts for a more mature and more sexual image.

“I started realizing when I set foot on stage that I didn’t know if what I was singing [is] what I should be singing,” she says.
“Obviously I’ve made a lot of mistakes because I’m human and I go through all of it,” Selena says. “I do think you do you have to make your own mistakes and they make you who you are.”
During one of her concerts on her Stars Dance tour she addressed the question of her sexuality directly.
“I get it all day, every day; that I’m not sexy enough, or I’m not cool enough, or if I did this I would be accepted,” she told the audience.
“Let me tell you one thing: the sexiest thing … is class,” she added.
