Bell, 33, wore a strapless J Mendel creation with a wrap skirt and thigh-high split that proved to be a little hard to handle.
She flashed her underwear when a wind gust swept open her dress at the TCL Chinese Theatre last night (Mar. 13). But she laughed it off, flashing just a hint of red-cheeked bashfulness.
Bell, who executive produced the movie, starred in the “Veronica Mars” television series from 2004 to 2007.
She had been hoping the show could be transferred to the big screen ever since the series ended.
Financing proved to be a major hurdle until the film’s producers launched a “kickstarter” campaign to raise funds over the Internet. The campaign pulled in $5.7 million, well over the $2 million goal.
“Our fans have always been unbelievable and we knew that, but I think they proved that to the world,” she said in a recent interview about the campaign.
“We’re ultimately flattered to be involved in this project that so many people want to see,” she added. “Nobody got paid – everyone was there because they wanted to be there.”
The movie is a mystery comedy-drama produced and directed by Rob Thomas. He co-wrote the script with Diane Ruggiero. Bell reprises her role as the high-school sleuth and is living in New York City.
She’s called back to her hometown of Neptune when a former boyfriend is accused of murder.
The film also stars Jason Dohring, Krysten Ritter, Ryan Hansen, Francis Capra, Percy Daggs III and Chris Lowell.
It’s scheduled to be released on March 14.
