Bryan Cranston is hot on the trail of Godzilla in a remake of the 1954 sci-fi horror classic.

Bryan Cranston gets the bejezus scared out of him by Godzilla in a new trailer for the upcoming movie that re-imagines the classic sci-fi horror story with the added dimension of modern computer-generated graphics.

The original film hit big screens in 1954 as sort of a cautionary tale about the dangers of technology and newly invented atom bombs.

The film became a cult classic not so much for its doomsday message as for its funky special effects.

Godzilla went on to star in 28 films and this latest incarnation from Director Gareth Edwards will introduce the hoary giant monster to a new generation.

The film also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Kick-Ass”), Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai,” “Inception”), Elizabeth Olsen (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”), Oscar winner Juliette Binoche (“The English Patient,” “Cosmopolis”), Sally Hawkins (“Blue Jasmine”) and David Strathairn (“Good Night, and Good Luck.,” “The Bourne Legacy”)

Footnote: New York City also stars in the movie; nothing trashes a city quite like Godzilla.
