Depp, 50, once scowled during his 14-year relationship with French model and actress Vanessa Paradis that he didn’t see the point in marriage.
But that was before he met Heard while shooting the 2010 film “The Rum Diary,” based on journalist Hunter S. Thompson’s book by the same name.
Not long afterward, Depp split from Paradis, the mother of his two children Lily-Rose 14, and Jack, 12. He went public with his new relationship in 2012.
Depp also says he and his former partner have patched things up. “Vanessa and I get along wonderfully. There’s no weirdness at all, no hostility,” he he told London’s Mirror newspaper.
But that wasn’t the case two years ago following their break up. Paradis called Heard a “man-stealing nobody.”
The May-December relationship has certainly raised eyebrows. Heard is 23 years younger than Depp, easily young enough to be his daughter. But Johnny apparently has big plans on spending his golden years with the fetching blonde.
Johnny proposed to Amber on Christmas Eve and she accepted. Although no wedding date is planned, Johnny is already talking kids.
“As far as having more kids, it’s easy for me, and Amber should have the opportunity to have kids if she wants. Let’s face it, practicing for it is fun and it’s all wonderful,” he said.
Amber, meanwhile, came out as a lesbian at the GLAAD 25th Anniversary Celebration in December 2010.
She was involved in an on-again, off-again relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree for several years.
No word on whether van Ree is still involved in her life, or if Heard still swings both ways.
