The studio will air 17 minutes of exclusive footage from the picture in 150 theaters around the globe.
The never-before-seen IMAX 3D clip of the blockbuster space adventure, directed by James Gunn, will herald the release of the film in U.S. theaters on Aug 1.
“We’ve re-mastered some of our epic sequences into the IMAX 3D format, taking the scope and scale to new heights while creating a truly immersive, cinematic experience, said Gunn in a statement.
“[It] will take you further into the Marvel Universe than ever before,” he added.
Tickets to the July 7 U.S. and Canadian screenings are free and available now on a first-served basis through the Guardians of the Galaxy Web site.
Fans who attend this sneak peek will also receive a limited-edition collectible Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” IMAX poster, the studio said.
The movie focuses on adventurer Peter Quill, who is pursued relentlessly by Ronan, a powerful villain who threatens the entire universe. Quill has what Ronan wants, a mysterious orb.
Quill hooks up in an uneasy truce with four misfits: Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer.
Quill eventually discovers the true power of the menacing orb and rallies his ragtag rivals to keep it out of the hands of Ronan.
The movie also stars Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan and Djimon Hounsou.
John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio Del Toro also appear.
