The trailer also features a new track from Australian rapper Iggy Azalea with an assist from British pop-rocker Ellie Goulding.
Comic book heroes are big box office these days. Whether American audiences will buy into another thoroughly British film like this one remains to be seen.
But the James Bond series suggests that they will, although “Kingsman” is a more obscure story.
The film focuses on a super spy agency of elite agents. Firth plays Harry Hart, a super secret spy who sees potential in Gary “Eggsy” Unwin (Taron Egerton), a former Marine who has become a street tough.
Eggsy has to go through super-spy training with other recruits and proves as troublesome as he is talented. Just in time, too. The world is facing a threat from a deranged tech genius, (Samuel L. Jackson), who is cold-hearted, ruthless and comical. (It’s British, right?)
Michael Caine also stars as Arthur and Sofia Boutella plays eye-candy Gazelle.
If the cast doesn’t grab you, there are lots of special effects and high-tech wizardry as well. Vaughn keeps the pace fast and furious in a British sort of way.
The film’s release date has bounced around between October and February 2015, but the go-date is now Feb. 13, according to Fox.
