The former HBO series was all about the ins and outs of Hollywood, focusing on Grenier’s character Vincent Chase, an up-and-coming movie star.
Vince is surrounded by his boys from the ‘hood back in Brooklyn as they try to make their mark on Tinseltown, as actors or behind-the-scenes players.
The show ran through eight seasons and was hugely popular for its brass-ball depiction of Hollywood and the movie star system. The comedy-drama, more or less, picks up where the show left off.
In the film super-agent Ari Gold (Piven) puts it all on the line by bankrolling Vince’s directorial debut, using $100 million dollars of someone else’s money, of course. His’ backer is a high-rolling Texas billionaire (Billy Bob Thorton) and his son Travis.
As the film soars over-budget, the Texans bring down the heat on Ari to make sure the film succeeds… or else. Chase also stars in the gritty fantasy crime drama.
Both Nina and Emily appear in the trailer in quick flashes during a party scene on a yacht. But pay attention; they get about one second of screen time each. Still that’s enough to whet your appetite.
Both models have been dabbling in film roles. Emily appeared in “Gone Girl” and co-stars in the upcoming Zac Efron film “We Are Your Friends.” Nina made a cameo in the 2013 film “Don Jon,” with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson.
