The sequel to the 2014 film “Divergent” and the second installment in the Divergent film series pits Tris against Eurdite’s leader Jeanine Matthews, played by Kate Winslet.
The picture also stars Theo James, Octavia Spencer, Zoë Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Mekhi Phifer and Naomi Watts.
But who knew it would be such a head game?
The clip opens with Tris restrained in a room with a glass wall, hooked up to a bunch of scary looking hoses. On the other side of the glass, Jeanine engages her in a staring battle.
From there, it’s just one slow-motion bust up. Tris becomes enraged and rips off the hoses attached to the back of her suit. Jeanine stands motionless, holding a clip board, as if she’s taking notes.
Instead of panicking, a smile begins to creep across her face. Tris is in full melt-down mode as she crashes through the window, hell-bent on getting her hands on her nemesis.
It’s all fireworks and flying glass shards, but somehow Jeanine is excited by it all as she breaks out into a broad smile. She breaks into a thousand pieces, an obvious illusion, while Tris breaks through the building’s wall and goes into free-fall.
Now she’s not only shattering glass, but bringing down the whole building and then a whole city block. She belly flops on the pavement and keeps right on going.
Meanwhile, in epic block letters the phrase “She is the one,” materializes on-screen.
She better be. Tris and Four (James) are running for their lives as their well-ordered world breaks down into full-scale civil war.
The film will be released domestically Mar. 20.
