Emilia Clarke’s earthy queen goddess, Daenerys Targaryen, has been a mainstay on HBO’s hit series “Game of Thrones.” But her character may finally meet her demise in season 6, if only because Emilia is being bombarded with film offers and wants to pursue a Hollywood career, according to sources.

She was celebrated in Great Britain a few weeks ago. She was named Woman of the Year by the British edition of GQ magazine.

The prestigious prize has previously gone to Kim Kardashian, actress Emma Watson, singer Lana Del Ray and UK supermodel Lara Stone.

Winning the award has only raised Clarke’s profile that much more. Her superb acting in the widely watched fantasy series has opened doors for her in Hollywood.

The 28-year-old actress was the female lead in this year’s “Terminator Genisys,” a sci-fi action film that showcased her considerable big-screen talents. She played Sarah Conor opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Clarke.

She’s also the lead actress in “Me Before You, an upcoming drama directed by Thea Sharrock an co-starring Sam Claflin, Jenna Coleman, Charles Dance and Matthew Lewis.

In the film, due to be released this coming June, Emilia plays a woman who is hired to care for a quadriplegic injured in a motorcycle accident. She becomes entangled in his life and they develop a relationship. It’s based on the 2012 book by the same name.

Clarke has had to film the pictures around “Game of Thrones,” which has made it difficult for her to pursue other film offers, according to a source.

As such, she may be looking for an out, which could mean killing off her character or simply sending her off somewhere. At the end of season 5, Khaleesi had been taken to a remote desert by one of her dragons. Her fate was left up in the air.

“Game of Thrones” has killed off a number of its leading cast members over the course of its run. Last season, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, was the latest to be eliminated.

On British drama “Downton Abbey,” Dan Stevens, who played Downton heir Matthew Crawley and Jessica Brown Findlay, who played Lady Sybil, were both killed off on the show so the could pursue other interests.

At New York Comic Con last week, cast members Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell) and Keisha Castle-Hughes (Obara Sand) were coy about plot details.

But our sources said anything can happen.

Along with being named Woman of the Year at the GQ Awards, Emilia also covered GQ UK’s October issue. She posed for for photographers Hunter & Gatti wearing Balmain and Dior. Deborah Afshani handled styling.
