Scarlett Johansson has become a fixture in sci-fi movies. In a new 30-second Super Bowl ad for her upcoming movie “Ghost in the Shell,” she strips and does a swan dive off a high rise. But all is not as it seems for the cyber-terrorist warrior.

Johansson plays “The Major.” She leads a cyborg counter-cyberterrorist field commander who is facing an implacable enemy.

Her task force Section 9 must thwart cyber criminals and hackers who will stop at nothing to sabotage Hanka Robotics’ artificial intelligence technology, according to the movie synopsis.

Of note, British director Rupert Sanders helmed the picture. He was infamously embroiled in a 2012 cheating scandal with “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart.

They met while filming “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

He was married at the time with two children. She was living with “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson. The scandal ended their relationship and she how dates women.

Sanders’ marriage ended in divorce.

The film was written by Jamie Moss and Ehren Kruger based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow.

Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, Chin Han and Juliette Binoche also star.

Johansson must have a penchant for fantasy and sci-fi films. She’s also starred in the Avengers movies, 2014 French film “Lucy” about an alien encounter, 2013’s “Her,” she voiced a computer, and “Under the Skin.”

“Ghost in a Shell” will be released on March 31, 2017
