Robert Pattinson is featured in a new “Water for Elephants” film clip with his two female co-stars. That would be Tai, a 9,000-pound Asian elephant, and Reese Witherspoon. He charmed one of them with candy.

That would be Tai, again. “I had a relationship with the elephant, but it was based purely on candy,” he said. “In other words, he used them as bait!

“I strategically placed mints, like suck on them for a bit and then stick them onto [my body], like covering my entire chest all the time, and [I didn’t] tell anyone,” he added.

“So every time the elephant would be like constantly sniffing me, I’d be like, ‘I don’t know!’ She just really likes me! It’s crazy!’ Yeah, I think she was just sniffing around for treats,” according to gossip site JustJared.

At a press junket in Santa Monica, Calif., to promote the film, the lanky Rob, who’s anxious to shed weight for his role in his new movie “Cosmopolis,” says he didn’t mind shoveling animal manure on the set.

“Working with poop is, I don’t mind that at all,” Pattinson laughed. “I have like a natural propensity to work on big piles of poop. I’m very familiar with it.

“I wasn’t grossed out by it at all. Because of the environment, everything felt so authentic all the time, you kind of just accept it as just part of the world.

There was like the scene when we were in that train car with like ten million flies, on any other movie, I think I’d be like, ‘One take!’

“I was just perfectly happy, made a little mound, sat there and ate my lunch like everybody else,” he said.

In the clip from the film, Tai thoroughly explores her co-star with her probing trunk.

“You’re a beauty,” his character, Jacob, says. “Your skin’s a little dry maybe you should take care of that. The first thing you notice about a woman’s age is her skin.”

“Oh, is this the way elephants flirt?” Jacob asks with a laugh, as the elephant sniffs him, obviously curious about the minty smell.

“Would you two like to be left alone?” Marlena asks.

“Water for Elephants,” directed by Francis Lawrence, comes out April 22. Rob also stars with Oscar winner Christolph Waltz.
