Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Shia LeBouf get some screen time in the new Transformers 3 trailer, but the monstrous machines are clearly the stars as they spring from the moon to earth and trash the city of Chicago.

The clip suggests the movie will be non-stop action with lots of special effects and a sprinkling of human stars to fill in the narrative.

In a controversial move, Huntington-Whiteley replaced screen siren Megan Fox, after the latter had a falling out with director Michael Bay.

Judging from the trailer, Rosie will play damsel in distress, but also looks like she’ll have some meaty action parts as well.

She plays Shia’s loves interest.

LaBeouf reprises his role as Sam Witwicky in what’s supposed to be the ultimate battle between good and evil, as Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on the Decepticons.

The clip, which sets up the movie, shows an army of Decepticons racing to discover the secret of a Cybertronian spacecraft that crashes on the Moon

Chicago’s landmark financial district takes a pounding as the hugh machines trash whole skyscrapers and toss cars around like toys.

The action film is the third and reportedly last in the blockbuster series. It debuts in July. Watch the trailer below.
