The tale of two Taylors — Swift and Lautner — has come to its final chapter. The made-in-Hollywood couple are now “just friends.” What Happened? Nothing, that’s the problem.
The break up comes after three months of on-again, off-again dating, that led some to suspect they really weren’t dating at all, so much as going with the flow from their on-screen romance in “Valentine’s Day,” their romantic comedy.
In any event, it appears that the country music singer, 20, ended whatever there was of the relationship.
“It wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends,” a source close to Swift told Us magazine. “There was no chemistry.”
The Taylors met on the “Valentine’s Day” set, and sent rumors flying after Swift gave Lautner a big hug in public at a concert in October.
You could hardly call them compassionate lovers. They went on a frozen yogurt day with Swift’s mother.
Swift apparently put the kibosh on the relationship after Lautner, 17, flew to Nashville for Swift’s birthday party on Dec. 13, a friend of the singer told the magazine.
“He liked her more than she liked him,” the source tells Us. “He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn’t travel much to see him.”
Both Taylors have had phenomenal years. Swift has collected a slew of music awards and Lautner was the break out star of the year in “New Moon,” the “Twilight” sequel.
Better write this one off to puppy love.
