Fans of Christopher Nolan’s latest and final installment in the Batman series “The Dark Knight Rises,” got a brief taste of the upcoming movie when a teaser taped by a fan went viral on the Internet.

The teaser was shown immediately before screenings of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ on Friday (July 15), and one more enterprising fans filmed it while it was showing on the big screen.

Since then fans have been scrambling to find it online, while staying one step ahead of Warner Bros., which has been big-footing every YouTube posting.

The trailer is short and hard to see, but it provides a fleeting glimpse of Tom Hardy as the mysterious ‘Bain’ villain, who also features on the film’s only official poster.

“Every Hero Has A Journey” appears on a blacked out screen with the voiceover: “If you make yourself more than just a man. If you devout yourself to be ideal. And you become something else entirely. A legend Mr. Wayne.”

Commissioner Gordon, (Gary Oldman), pleading for Batman’s help while lying on a hospital bed with an oxygen mask stapped on his face.

“We were in this together,” he says. “Then you were gone. Now this evil rises. The Batman … has to come back.”

Then, Christian Bale’s voice cuts in: “What if he doesn’t exist anymore?”

The scene cuts to the Gotham City skyline. Buildings morph and crumble, captured on the film poster released earlier this week at DarkKnightRises.com

The film will be Nolan’s third and final Batman movie, after “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight,” which set box office records, so you can imagine how high fan interest is in the sequel.

The clip ends with a stand-off between Batman and Bane, with a another fade to black screen with the words “The Epic Conclusion.”
