The latest teasers feature Captain America picking out his shield. The 50-second clip segues into a scene where Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) tests the shield with live bullets.
Also starring in the movie are Tommie Lee Jones, Stanley Tucci, Sebastian Stan and Derek Luke.
Although the movie has vaulted Evans to the top of A-list actors, he only took the role reluctantly, he tells MTV News.
“[Playing] Captain America just changes things, and there’s really no off switch once you walk down that road,” Evans said. “There’s no turning back now. I’m just trying to make all the negatives positives and just enjoy the ride.”
Evans says he turned down the role twice, but director Joe Johnston and producer Kevin Feige kept after him.
Marvel even cut the nine-picture deal to six films and did away with an audition. Only then, Evans said, did he decide to take on the role.
“It just seemed like the more I walked away the more they pursued,” he said.
Four days before the film’s July 22 release, video game publisher Sega will launch tie-in video game: “Captain America: Super Soldier” for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and the Nintendo DS and 3DS.
The third-person action title features an original story that meshes with the film; Captain America battles his nemesis the Red Skull and his horde of Hydra forces.
