Eva Longoria, who normally plays a hot latin maneater, gets to test her lesbian cred on screen in a new movie, “Without Men,” a comedy about a small village of women coping without men.

When the men are all forcibly recruited by guerilla revolutionaries, the women are left to fend for themselves. Longoria’s character takes charge.

The women must take on all the duties performed by men, including sex. The only man in the village is a priest (Oscar Nunez), until a journalist (Christian Slater) stumbles onto the town.

He strikes up a relationship with Longoria’s firecracker of a character, but not before she indulges in a little girl-on-girl action.

Longoria falls into the embraces of co-star Kate del Castillo.

“It was a little difficult as the two girls are both straight so they were very nervous and laughed a lot,” the film’s director, Gabriela Tagliavini, told Fox News. “But I think that just made it even lovelier.”

Lesbianism has long gone mainstream and is regularly featured on cable television shows, if it’s portrayed as very feminine.

That’s the case in the movie, as well.

“[Female audiences] don’t want to watch porn, so it was all very sensual, both are very beautiful women aside from being incredibly funny.”

Man-on-man sex, however, remains out of bounds, although Jim Carrey and Ewan MacGregor recently starred in an indie gay comedy, “I Love You Phillip Morris,” which saw limited release.
