Robert Downey Jr., Cobie Smulders, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner, soon-to-be better known as The Avengers, got together for the first time at this weekends Disney’s D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center.

“The Avengers” was conspicuously absent from Comic Con, which showcases everything comic book, but Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, provided a preview.

He showed off previous Marvel films, previewed a clip and revealed that only two weeks of filming were left before the movie will be a wrap.

Not all actors could make the event because they were shooting in Ohio, said Feige.

“The Avengers” will bring together in one film superheros who have their own pictures or have appeared in Avenger films.

The film will feature Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Hemsworth), Iron Man (Downey Jr.), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Renner), Black Widow (Johansson) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

“The Avengers” is slated for release on May 4, 2012. Director Joss Whedon said the first preview won’t be ready for release to the public for several weeks.
