“I feel ready… for the next chapter of my life,” she says in the November issue of Marie Claire magazine.
“I’m excited to begin a new phase; roles I might have been afraid to play before, places I want to travel with my daughter. I’d like to build the design business. But not too fast.”
She raised eyebrows when she played Jackie Kennedy in the controversial mini-series about President John F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family.
The series was dropped by the History Channel, which initially underwrote it, but was picked up by the Reelz cable network.
Katie’s latest film, “Jack and Jill,” premiered in Los Angeles on Monday night.
She wore a sheer purple-and-black dress by Holmes & Yang, and posed with her co-star, Adam Sandler on the red carpet.
The family comedy is about a husband and father (Sandler) whose Thanksgiving is disrupted when his obnoxious identical twin sister (also played by Sandler) visits. Katie plays his wife, Erin.
Previously, she appeared in a cameo role in a well rated episode of “How I Met Your Mother,” and there is even talk of a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion.
Holmes, then 20, starred in the hit series as teen Joey Potter. The series lasted for six seasons and has become a cult hit in reruns.
On the big screen, she and Chace Crawford are set to star in the romantic comedy “Responsible Adults,” with shooting scheduled to begin this fall in Los Angeles.
“Jack and Jill” hits theaters Nov. 11. Check out Katie’s photos.
