Actor Robert Funaro, so good on HBO’s “The Sopranos,” and as part of director Tony Scott’s brilliant ensemble fim, “American Gangster,” surfaced Friday night on CBS’s new cop drama Blue Bloods.
Funaro played Brownie in the episode, called “Whistle Blower.” He’s the trusted Captain of Tom Selleck’s police commissioner, who’s officer may have run afoul of his duties.
Funaro was spot on terrific, giving a compassionate line reading and had three scenes with Selleck at the front of the show and at the close.
“Working with Selleck was great; a terrific actor and gentleman,” Funaro told TheImproper. “He’s like Mt. Rushmore,” he added.
He also said the actor was most gracious and hinted that he may return to the show later this year. With this role and one on another CBS show “Unforgettable,” Funaro is on a great roll himself. He deserves more exposure.

Rebecca Bruder Emerging Young Actress
Just as we were among the first to write about Funaro and helping expose him to a wider audience, Rebecca Bruder, 23, is expected to do great things as her career develops.
The up-and-coming actress, hails from Clearwater, Fla. Her role in The Tempest, staged at the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, really whetted her appetite.
While performing one of the numbers in Urinetown, she knew acting would be her mission.
“During one of the numbers from the play, the crowd leapt to its feet as soon as the song finished. That rush of pride, adrenaline, and joy was so strong, that from that moment on I knew I’d do this for the rest of my life,” she said.
She loves Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon-Levitt because of the roles they’ve played. Meryl Streep, Michael Caine and Daniel Day-Louis are her inspirations.
She also mentions the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen as an artist she has followed.
She has several pending roles in the offing and has just joined forces with notable agent Wiliam Schill. Expect to see her name again and again.
