Catherine Zeta-Jones is all dolled up as a big breasted floozy in the first photo of her character Tulip Heimowitz in the Stephen Frears-directed film “Lay the Favorite.” It’s a first look at the crime-comedy.
Jones, 42, will star along with Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall as Beth Raymer, Vince Vaughn and Joshua Jackson. The film is based on Raymer’s memoir of the same name.

In the newly released still from the picture, Jones is in full getup as a cocktail waitress who is married to Dink Heimowitz (Willis), one of the most successful sports gamblers in the business.
But Dink runs into problems when he takes on an assistant, Raymer, as Tallahassee, Fla. stripper, who has a body that kills and a mind for gambling.
Beth takes to the work like a fish to water, but falls for Dink. Tulip gets wind of the budding romance and all hell breaks loose.
Against Dink’s protests, Beth goes to work for the flamboyant, unstable Rosie (Vaughn) who runs a less-than-legal operation in New York City. When Beth’s boyfriend Jeremy (Jackson) is threatened with prison, she must try to straighten out her problems with Dink, Tulip, and the authorities–the biggest gamble of her life, according to the official movie synopsis.
The role bears some significance for Jones. It’s her first major part since her husband, actor Michael Douglas, 67, was diagnosed with throat cancer and since she was diagnosed as being bi-polar.
Jones previously starred in 2009’s The Rebound. Along with ‘Lay the Favorite,” she’s also starring in another comedy, “Playing the Field,” about a washed up athlete who becomes a soccer coach and is tempted by soccer moms.
The Gabriele Muccino film stars also Gerard Butler, Uma Thurman, Jessica Biel and Dennis Quaid.
