brucewilliis-moonrise-frontBruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray and Tilda Swinton are some of the top stars Wes Anderson has assembled for his new comedy “Moonrise Kingdom.” A new trailer provides the first glimpse of the off-beat comedy romance.

Willis, plays a fat, balding and slightly befuddled sheriff who is called into search for two teenage lovers before a nasty storm sweeps their New England island town. Newcomers Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward play Sam and Suzy, 12-year-olds who flee together.

Norton, known mostly for tough guy roles in “Fight Club,” and “American History X” or psychotic thrillers like “Primal Fear,” plays an off-beat Scout Master. He’s on a camping trip with his troop when Sam disappears.

Murray and Francis McDormand play Suzy’s parents, who seem to have mixed emotions about their child’s mysterious disappearance. When asked if he’s concerned, Murray replies “That’s a loaded question.”

The film is set in the summer of 1965, and it looks like Anderson worked hard to get the clothes, the cinematography and the props to closely reflect the campy decade. Francis Ford Coppola’s son Roman Coppola and Anderson wrote the script.

Anderson was nominated for the 2001 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for “The Royal Tenenbaums,” which also starred Murray, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gene Hackman, Ben Stiller, Luke Wilson, and Owen Wilson and Angelica Houston.

Anderson is also noted for such off-kilter flicks as “Rushmore,” “Bottle Rocket,” “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and “The Darjeeling Limited.” “Moonrise Kingdom” is due to be released May 25.
