Lindsay Lohan will have plenty of material for jokes on Saturday Nigh Live–herself. Lohan wants to showcase her talent on the show and has no qualms about poking fun at her trials and tribulations.

In a new preview of the show, which airs Saturday (Mar. 3), Lohan pokes fun at all the media coverage she’s received and her financial situation.

“People are probably wondered what I have been up to,” she said in a brief promo. “If only magazines and websites would have documented my activities more closely.” Of course, Lohan has been a tabloid fodder ever since her 2007 drunk driving arrest.

Gossip mags went wild over her late-night partying, controversial relationships, meltdowns and trips to rehab. The unflattering light caused much of her film work to dry up. “America could have used more information on me and maybe even a picture or two,” Lohan said.

The last time she appeared on “Saturday Night Live” was in 2006. She was at the top of her game following “Mean Girls” in 2004 and successive films “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” “Just My Luck,” and “Prairie Home Companion,” up trough 2006.

She became the youngest host of the MTV Movie Awards in 2004, when she was just 17. Lohan went on to host SNL three times between 2004 and 2006. She also hosted the 2006 World Music Awards. She was everybody’s darling.

The actress is one court hearing away from putting her legal problems behind her. She’s also slated to appear in a Lifetime movie about film star Elizabeth Taylor.
