Co-stars include Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Malin Åkerman, Bryan Cranston and Kevin Nash.
Also making appearances in the camp comedy, directed by Adam Shankman, are Alec Baldwin and R&B diva Mary J. Blige.
The photos show cruise shirtless with tattoos on his chest. “I knew we had to push the sexuality because of the nature of the character and the songs,” Cruise said of the movie.
The film will feature the music of Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, Poison, Europe, and Twisted Sister as it tells the love story between Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) and busboy Drew Boley (Diego Boneta).
Both are aspiring entertainers. Their romance is played out against efforts to prevent The Bourbon Room, a Hollywood club where they work, from being shut down. Stacee agrees to play the club in an attempt to save it.
The film is distributed by New Line Cinema with Warner Bros. It hits theaters on June 15. Check out Cruise’s photos.
