Robert Pattinson went out of his way to make a heartfelt statement at the 2012 Stand Up To Cancer telethon Friday night. Rob hasn’t let his breakup with Kristen Stewart stop him from appearing in public, especially for a good cause.
Rob, 26, was in Los Angeles for the MTV Video Music Awards, where he Taylor Lautner, Elizabeth Reaser, Peter Facinelli and Jackson Rathbone introduced a new trailer for “Breaking Dawn, Part 2.”
Stewart was in Toronto for the International Film Festival to promote her new movie “On the Road.”
Rob joined Taylor Swift, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Justin Timberlake and other celebrities at LA’s the Shrine Auditorium. Kelly Pickler even shaved her head for her friend undergoing chemotherapy.
Taylor sang a new song dedicated to a three-year-old cancer victim, while Rob read a statement urging viewers to support breast cancer research. He was joined on stage breast cancer survivor Pam Cromwell.
She heads Pink for Pam, a non-profit organization that focuses on fighting breast cancer. Pam was below the recommended age for preventative mammogram screening, when she discovered she had cancer.
