Jennifer Hudson joins the cat fight on the second season of NBC’s hit show “Smash.” She better sharpen her elbows for Katharine McPhee’s Karen and Megan Hlity’s Ivy. They’re still going it at it.
Hudson leads the list of new additions to the upcoming season. She plays Veronica, a Broadway queen who has the power to help Karen, or is it Ivy, get a leg up in the cutthroat business.
Jeremy Jordan joins the series as Karen’s new boyfriend. Jordan, 27, has starred on Broadway. He played Jack Kelly in the 2012 musical Newsies and Clyde Barrow in the 2011 musical Bonnie & Clyde.
The show appears to have big plans for his role. He was featured in a preview of Season 2 on “The Voice” last night and in the extended promo released by Yahoo. (See below)
The extended video opens with an icy confrontation between Karen and Ivy as both go for the same elevator. Karen asserts herself by storming in and dismissing her rival. “You can get the next one,” she says.
Season 2 begins on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013. In the meantime check out the trailer below and click here to follow TheImproper on Twitter for more Smash updates.
