Leslie Mann has two hot films on the way including “This is 40,” a comedy written, co-produced and directed by Judd Apatow, who just happens to be her husband. Sure, it’s a family affair, but it seems to work.

“It’s so nice to be able to have a say in things and Judd being open to collaborating because I’m very helpful in that area. And that’s why working with him is so great, because I get to have a say in things where normally I wouldn’t,” she tells Marie Claire magazine.

The family business doesn’t end there. The couple’s daughters, Iris and Maude, played Mann’s character’s children in “Knocked Up” and “Funny People.” Apatow directed both.

Their upcoming film “This is 40,” sort of a sequel to 2007’s “Knocked Up.” Characters Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Mann) are reprised. They are still wrestling with their marriage, but this time Pete’s new record label is facing financial problems. As they turn 40, they begin to go through the throes of a hilarious midlife crisis.

Mann knows the feeling. She turns 40 this year. It’s all about coming to terms with getting older. “I wanted to make a movie about this turning point in people’s lives,” Apatow tells the magazine.

“So we start kicking around ideas for scenes and it becomes a coded way for us to have a discussion with each other about sensitive issues.”

Mann will also be appearing in the upcoming Hollywood crime caper “The Bling Ring.”
