Jennifer Garner's Feel-Good 'Odd Life of Timothy Green' Out on DVD

Jennifer Garner’s uplifting family movie, “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” has been released on DVD and Blu-ray. The movie turned off a lot of critics because of its old-fashioned heart-tugging themes, but it’s feel-good entertainment at it’s best.

Garner exudes empathy and warmth on the screen like no other actress. She joins Joel Edgerton as Cindy and Joe Green, a couple anxious to start a family.

The dream of what their child will be like until a child shows up on their doorstep on, yes, a dark and stormy night. Ten-year-old Timothy (C.J. Adams) is naked and covered in dirt when he arrives.

Cindy, Jim and their entire hometown of Stanleyville are swept up in his arrival and learn that unexpected events can sometimes yield life’s greatest gifts.

Critics who liked it, loved it. “A fable about parenting and its accompanying joys and sorrows, done in the trademark Walt Disney style of pleasant, feel-good entertainment that doesn’t leave much of an emotional trace,” wrote Rene Rodriguez, of the Miami Herald.

Adds Amy Biancolli of the San Francisco Chronicle: “A sun-dappled, heartwarming family film about a 10-year-old who sprouts out of the garden one magic night. It stars an extraordinary boy, C.J. Adams, with an extraordinary pair of gray eyes that gleam with joy and insight.”

The film, by Director/writer Peter Hedges, is well crafted. Check out a trailer below and click here to follow TheImproper on Twitter for all the latest updates on DVD releases.
