Emilia Clarke stars as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones.

Emilia Clarke brings the heat (literally) in the upcoming season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and we’re not just talking dragons. She’s all about fire and ice in a new photoshoot for GQ magazine’s march issue.

For most of the series, her character, the stunning blonde Daenerys Targaryen, has been wandering in exile. But in Season 3 her days in the wilderness are over.

Just to set the scene, she is the only surviving child of King Aerys II Targaryen, who was ousted from the Iron Throne during Robert’s Rebellion. She’s been exiled in the East, but is scheming to claim what she feels is rightfully hers. And, she’ll have a few dragons to help her out.

Which may or may not be necessary since she throws off so much heat herself. Every man she meets begs to do her bidding.

“This season I get to kick some serious butt,” the fetching British actress tells the magazine.

She reveals that she’s a fan of old-fashion chivalry and having a man open a door for her would be “greatly appreciated,” she says. But Daenerys likely could do without the chivalry, she adds. She’s has enough chivalry on her own.

“My idea of a first date would probably be old-school, old-fashioned dancing,” she advise. “Daenerys’ idea of a first date would probably be somewhere off in the desert with a horse doctor.”

If there is someone to fear between her father and Daenerys’ dragons, she advises to beware of her dad. He’s very protective of his little daughter.

With good reason. She poses for some sultry hot photos in little black dresses. While her character is one of the most recognizable on the show, she seldom gets mobbed because her dark hair throws everyone off the scent.

“I’m so immediately unrecognizable,” the 25-year-old actress says. “It takes a die-hard fan to actually spot me.”

Clarke is also one of several young British actors who have seen their profile rise in the United States thanks to shows like “Game of Thrones.” It’s whetted her appetite to do American television and movies.

“I’d give my right arm to be, like, a random extra on ‘Girls,’ just to walk past one of the scenarios. I’d love that more than anything. Or, like, a meth head on ‘Breaking Bad.’ It’d be like Where’s Wally?!” she says.

She’s already got a foothold in theater. She’s appearing on Broadway as Holly Golightly in playwright Richard Greenberg’s new Broadway adaptation of the Truman Capote novella Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The role was immortalized in the 1961 movie by Audrey Hepburn.
