Ben Affleck as Batman in the upcoming sequel to “Man of Steel” has to be one of the monumental cases of miscasting since George Clooney was handed the role in the 1997 movie “Batman & Robin.” Nothing against Ben; he’s a fine actor and obviously a solid director as well. Check last year’s “Argo.” But he just lacks the gravitas to play the caped crusader in the wake of Christian Bale’s stunning performance in the Christopher Nolan “Batman” trilogy. Then, again, Batman has never really gotten much respect on the big- or small-screen....
The latest James Bond film “Skyfall” and Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” were two of last year’s blockbusters, but I only got around to seeing them recently. I’m glad I waited. The new trailer builds on a previously released clip with about a minute of new footage, much of it showcasing the movie’s incredible special effects. ...
Anne Hathaway says she had to physically transform to play Catwoman in the new Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises." But the hard work appears to have paid off judging by new photos from the movie. She appears in her skin-tight Catwoman suit and looks oh so feline. Hathaway's cat suit is unlike any of the others that preceded her in earlier Batman movies, which saw Halle Berry (2004) and Michelle Pfeiffer (1992) play the role. Berry showed far more skin, while Pfeiffer's had a latex look. Hathaway's outfit, in contrast, has the same utilitarian look as Batman's suit....
