Suicide Squad Tones Down Darkness to Draw Kiddie Crowd; See New Trailer!

“Suicide Squad” is featured in a new teaser trailer and it’s pretty clear the movie has been watered down to cut the sex and violence. Studio Warner Bros and DC Entertainment are going for the short money by angling for a PG-13 rating. So much for artistic integrity. The lead characters include Will Smith as Deadshot, an expert marksman an assassin, Jared Leto as Joker, a psychopathic criminal and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, a crazed former psychiatrist. Other cast members include Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood and model Cara Delevingne....

Alexander Skarsgard Swings His Big Stick in New Tarzan Trailer (watch!)

Alexander Skarsgård swings through the trees in a new trailer for the Warner Bros. reboot of “The Legend of Tarzan.” His ferocity in the jungle is matched by his delicate handling of a tea cup in the Edgar Rice Burroughs tale of man and beast. The film also stars Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson (“Pulp Fiction,” the “Captain America” films), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “Gladiator”), Oscar nominee John Hurt (“The Elephant Man,” “Harry Potter”) an Oscar winner John Hurt(“Iris”)....

Ben Affleck to Play Batman? Are You Kidding? Get Serious…

Ben Affleck as Batman in the upcoming sequel to “Man of Steel” has to be one of the monumental cases of miscasting since George Clooney was handed the role in the 1997 movie “Batman & Robin.” Nothing against Ben; he’s a fine actor and obviously a solid director as well. Check last year’s “Argo.” But he just lacks the gravitas to play the caped crusader in the wake of Christian Bale’s stunning performance in the Christopher Nolan “Batman” trilogy. Then, again, Batman has never really gotten much respect on the big- or small-screen....

Nicholas Hoult Climbs Beanstalk in New Giant Slayer Video (watch!)

Nicholas Hoult will be known for more than being Jennifer Lawrence’s boyfriend, judging by a new trailer for his film “Jack the Giant Slayer,” a retelling of the children’s fairy tale classic “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Hoult plays Jack, who is beguiled when a princess, played by Eleanor Tomlinson shows up on his doorstep one rainy night. He’s thirsting for an adventure and so is she. The film has a solid cast including Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy and Ewan McGregor, but these fairy tale reimaginings have a mixed record....
