Chloë Moretz is a fright in a new trailer for a reboot of the camp 1976 film “Carrie.” After she is bullied at school, the high schooler exacts revenge on a whole town through her demonic powers. But the real fright in the new movie might well be Julianne Moore. Although Moore doesn't make an appearance in the 50-second teaser clip, she’s a scene stealer as Carrie’s strict, religious mother, Margaret White. Sean Penn, Sexy Emma Stone Steal Gangster Squad (New Trailer!)

Sean Penn does the best gangster impression since James Cagney in 1931′s “The Public Enemy” in a new theatrical trailer for the film “Gangster Squad.” He ruthlessly takes over Los Angeles in the 1950s. Although the film is ostensibly about a rogue band of LA police detectives, led by Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling, Penn looks like he steals the movie, judging from the clip. Penn, 51, plays tough New York mobster Mickey Cohen who moves to Los Angeles in the 1940s intent on taking over the rackets....

Viewers of the live stream event, courtesy of Yahoo! movies, can tweet questions about his decision and other facets of the movie, using the hashtag #LincolnMovie....

Anthony Hopkins Wickedly Delicious in New 'Hitchcock' Trailer (watch!)

Anthony Hopkins does a creditable job as Alfred Hitchcock in a new trailer for the movie “Hitchcock,” except for an incredibly bad makeup job. But Scarlett Johansson makes up for it as a ravishing Janet Leigh. The movie focuses on the making of Hitchcock’s classic film “Psycho,” which broke all the rules. When the suspense/horror film was released in 1960, it shocked audiences with its violence, sexuality and eccentric camera angles....

Daniel Craig Flashes Panache in New James Bond Video (watch!)

Daniel Craig continues the James Bond tradition of remaining cool under pressure in a new video teaser for his upcoming Bond film “Skyfall.” After tearing off the roof of a moving train car, he jumps inside, lands on his feet and casually adjusts his cufflink. It’s the kind of attention to detail that has made the James Bond films classics. Sony Pictures released the 36-second spot to mark the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond film, “Dr. No.” “Skyfall,” which also stars Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem and Naomie Harris will be released Nov. 9....

Bruce Willis Still Got Game in New 'Good Day to Die' Trailer (watch!)

Bruce Willis’s movie career is taking on all the resiliency of his action/adventure characters who are routinely blown up, shot up and beat up, but never die. The same can be said for the latest in his Die Hard series, according to a new trailer. Willis reprises cop and reluctant hero John McClane in Director John Moore’s directed “A Good Day To Die Hard.” The film is likely to get a substantial boost from Willis’s outstanding performance in the sci-fi film “Looper,” with Joseph Gordon-Levitt....

Farrelly, Patrik Forsberg, Elizabeth Banks, Steven Brill, Steve Carr, Rusty Cundieff, James Duffy, Griffin Dunne, James Gunn, Bob Odenkirk and Brett Ratner direct segments. Farrelly was about to sign up about half of Hollywood to play a role in the picture. Right Wing Big Money Eyes Hollywood in Its Own Image

Right wing conservatives have long lambasted supposedly left-leaning Hollywood for making films that don’t espouse their values or worse, promote what they claim is a liberal-left political agenda. But now, they’re not getting mad, they’re getting even. Right-wing media multibillionaire Phil Anschutz appears to be leading the charge. He’s financed a film studio called Walden Media that is producing movies with a decidely right-wing political agenda. Walden’s second film, “Won’t Back Down,” debuted this weekend in about 2,500 theaters across the country. Not surprisingly, 20th Century Fox, owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. has the distribution deal....

Pope Turns Movie Critic, Again, Over Sci-Fi Thriller Prometheus

ope Benedict XVI needs to get a gig on rottentomatoes. The Vatican’s official house organ L’Osservatore Romano has editorialized against Ridley Scott’s sci-fi movie “Prometheus,” claiming it’s “a bad idea to defy the gods.” Hopefully, something was lost in translation. The newspaper, which is the voice of the Vatican, and therefore the pontiff, charged that the movie “mishandles the delicate questions raised by… the battle eternal between good and evil in yet another attempt to [steal] the secret of immortality.”...

Jackie Robinson Set to Hip-Hop in New '42' Trailer, WTF? (watch!)

Jackie Robinson finally gets his turn at bat in a new trailer for the upcoming film “42,” about how he broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball in the 1940s. The trailer is set against a Jay-Z rap “Brooklyn Go Hard,” which does the film no favors. Robinson, played by Chadwick Boseman, endured unbelievable abuse and humiliation as a player for the Brooklyn Dodgers, but his demeanor on and off the field, not to mention his stellar play, helped turn the tide against segregation. Hard to say whether Robinson would be a fan of hip hop, but Jay-Z’s over-the-top braggadocio hardly represents the spirit of Robinson’s character, or the era in which he played. The lyrics glorify thug life. In fact, the song turns Jackie Robinson on his head....

Clint Eastwood's 'Trouble With Curve' Is No Empty-Chair Speech (video)

Clint Eastwood’s Republican National Convention antics two weeks back put an uncomfortable magnifying glass on all his recent activities. But at 82, he hasn’t lost his marbles yet, judging by his new movie “Trouble With The Curve.” Strong performances by the always-enchanting Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake, plus stalwarts like John Goodman, Robert Patrick and Matthew Lillard, give the film great rhythm. It worked like a charm....

Selena Gomez Breaks From Filming for Some Bikini Time (photos)

Selena Gomez spent weeks in a bikini filming her new movie “Spring Breakers,” and apparently never tired of South Florida or a tiny two-piece. She was spotted yesterday lounging poolside on her own personal break. The 20-year-old actress was getting some rest and relaxation after filming her new movie “The Getaway” in Atlanta, Ga., which is adjacent to Florida. The film, which also stars Ethan Hawke Jon Voight and Bruce Payne, is an updated version of the 1972 crime classic starring Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw....

Joseph Gordon Levitt in Most Revealing Looper Trailers Yet (watch!)

Joseph Gordon Levitt and his upcoming science fiction film “Looper” are receiving critical raves after debuting at the Toronto International Film Festival, and two new trailers provide revealing looks at one of the most anticipated films of the year. Director Rian Johnson’s film involves complex interplay between Levitt and Bruce Willis in what may be his best role in years. It’s also action-packed. Levitt plays Joseph Simmons a hired assassin, also known as a looper. He works for a gang that exists 30 years in the future, when time travel has been invented. But it’s illegal to do and only criminal gangs use it....

Anna Gurji, Innocence of Muslims Actress, 'Shocked' by Film

Anna Gurji, one of the actresses who starred in a negative portrayal of the prophet Mohammed, is the latest person connected with the film to claim those on the set were hoodwinked into believing it was a movie about life in an ancient desert kingdom, without religious overtones. “There was no mention EVER by anyone of MUHAMMAD and no mention of religion during the entire time I was on the set,” she wrote in a letter explaining her understanding of the film....

Robocop on the Cheap: New Costume Disappoints (photos)

Robocop has taken on a new look for the upcoming update of the 1980s film, but the new cyborg suit is disappointing ardent fans because it looks like a cheap Batman cast off. Likewise, Robocop’s police car. Although the movie is set in 2046, the car looks like a thinly disguised Dodge Charger. The film, which stars Joel Kinnaman, Jay Baruchel, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton and Michael K. Williams, has been called a reimagination of the original story, which originally appeared in 1987 and was followed by two sequels in 1990 and 1993....
