Beu Sisters Are Back With New EP 'Beu-tiful Vol. 1' (photos!) 1Candice, Danielle and Christie Beu are back. The sisters were born in New York to Broadway actor parents, so it was a homecoming of sorts when they showcased their energetic pop/rock sound (with a hip-hop vibe) at Planet Rose.

The sisters who backed up “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken’s on their 2004 Independent Tour, are promoting a new EP entitled Beu-tiful: Vol. I

Candice, 36, Christie, 33, and baby Danielle, 24, performed their first single from the EP, “Definition of A Lady” and “Daze.”

The singers are part of a family of eight brothers and sisters. They’ve been performing as a group for 16 years. Sister Jilliane, once part of the group, was there in a support role along with their momager.

Their Broadway veteran parents (A Chorus Line) left New York in 1988 with their eight children and moved to New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Following their divorce in 1994, the girls started singing with their mother, backing up such as Billy Ray Cyrus and Bo Diddley.

Award-Winning Songwriter Desmond Child (Kiss, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith) discovered the girls and introduced them to Record Producer Steve Greenberg (Joss Stone, Jonas Brothers).

They were the second act he signed to S-Curve Records and their first album Decisions debuted in 2002. Their sassy personalities and natural beauty made them standouts.

The girls went to work for Disney on such projects as the double platinum selling album Lizzie McGuire Movie Soundtrack, Home on the Range, How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, Because of Winn Dixie, Ella Enchanted, Smallville, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gilmore Girls and Charmed.

They were also featured on Disney Channel specials like “Disney’s 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Hollywood Bowl,” “Disneymania II In Concert” hosted by Raven Simone.

Their work won them a contact with Sony/Columbia Records, but the sharp decline of the music industry put them in a holding pattern and the family finally decided to end their contract.

The returned to New Smyrna got day jobs and both Candice and Christie had children.

The girls waited on tables, cleaned condos and gave music lessons, while plotting their comeback, which has taken the form of Beu-tiful: Vol. I, the first of three planned EPs.

They wrote, arranged and recorded all 32 songs on the six-EP collection, through their own label Beach Breakz Records. Their songs mark a return to their roots and feature their soaring three-part harmony.

Check out a retrospective of their career, their latest video and photos from their showcase above.
