Jennifer Lopez draws on fantasy and urban street scenes to craft her latest video for new single “Goin’ In,” including a Red Riding Hood sequence that strays into Katy Perry territory. Boyfriend Casper Smart is missing in action, however.
Back-up dancer Smart is nowhere to be seen in the video. He’s been dating Lopez almost since her split from husband Marc Anthony last year and has been featured prominently in earlier videos.
JLo is willing to share the spotlight, but only so much. Which is good. The guy was beginning to crowd her a bit.
Lopez turned 43 this week; Smart is 25, and the relationship has raised some eyebrows. Despite celebrating another birthday, Lopez doesn’t miss a step. She looks fit and toned in some barely-there dance sequences where she flashes her washboard midriff.
Rapper Flo Rida makes a cameo appearance, rhyming next to a neon green sports car.
The video opens with Lopez resplendent in a flowing red, hooded cape, with organ music heralding her arrival. The scene quickly cuts to dancers in an container-filled shipyard where the party gets started. The music shifts to a pounding club beat.
From there it’s a wild ride of flashing laser lights, while Lopez zips through costume changes and dances with a crew on a stage.
Goin’ In first apppeared on Lopez’s greatest hits album, Dance Again… The Hits, which hit the streets on Tuesday (July 24). The song is also featured on the soundtrack of dance film “Step Up: Revolution 3D.” It’s scheduled for release on Friday.
Lopez has been on the road in support of her new album. The Dance Again Tour hit Europe and is now making stops in the United States. Lopez celebrated her 43rd birthday with a party on a luxury yacht in New York City, yesterday.
