Actress Mia Matthews will pay homage to some of film and music’s most celebrated sexy bombshells in a new one-woman show at the Plaza Theatre in Manalapan in Palm Beach, Fla.

Titled Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend, she’ll sing tributes to Mae West, Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, among others.

The tunes will include “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend”, “Bewitched”, “Falling in Love Again,” “Put the Blame on Mame,” “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off,” “Let Yourself Go,” “Stormy Weather” and more.

Broadway musical director and arranger, Barry Levitt and acclaimed theatrical director Donald Birely lead the team behind the show. Backing up Mia in “Diamonds” are Boy Bombers Jamison Stern and Kevin B. McGlynn.

Stern’s Broadway and national credits include: By Jeeves (Bingo Little), Little Shop Of Horrors (Seymour/Orin), and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere). McGlynn, who is choreographing the show, has worked on national tours for All Shook Up, Kiss Me Kate and Forbidden Broadway.

“This show is a dream come true for me,” says Mia in a statement. “Paying tribute to some incredible ladies, singing gorgeous songs, wearing glamorous clothes. In fact, I always felt like I was born in the wrong period.

“I love the ’30s and ’40s for all the glamour and sophistication. I was so thrilled when Alan Jacobsen asked me to perform a cabaret at the new Plaza Theatre. I have wanted to create a one-woman show for many years,” she added.

Mia is a fixture in Palm Beach theater. She lives there with husband Bob Matthews and daughters, Miranda and Bianca, and also spends time in Nantucket.

In New York, she’s appeared with nathan Lane musical Topper and in Henry IV as part of the New York Shakespeare Festival.
