Larry David’s new play Fish in the Dark has gone from the hottest ticket on Broadway to cold fish in the eyes of Broadway critics. Reviews have been less than enthusiastic for the Seinfeld creator’s first theater venture. Larry David Comedy Buoys Broadway With Record Ticket Pre-Sales (video)

Larry David is giving Broadway a shot in the arm after his new play Fish in the Dark–sight unseen–racked up $13.5 million in ticket pre-sales ahead of previews, which begin Monday (Feb. 2). David, 67, is best known for his work as a writer on the hit CBS sitcom “Seinfeld,” and for “Curb Your Entusiasm,” his own hilarious show on HBO. David will star in the play as a character much like himself with Rita Wilson, Rosie Perez, Jayne Houdyshell, Jonny Orsini, Jerry Adler and Jake Cannavale. It also stars Ben Shenkman, Lewis J.
