  • Singer Bobby Brown’s reportedly had an angry confrontation with Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, the day before his ex-wife and mother of his child was laid to rest earlier this month. It may explain his angry behavior at the funeral.

Brown and Cissy Houston reportedly met on the day before Whitney’s funeral Feb. 18 and had a blowout fight. Cissy put the blame squarely on Bobby for the superstar singer’s death.

Drugs and alcohol appear to be the cause, pending results of toxicology tests. The pop icon’s death, however, is expected to be ruled an accident, a source with knowledge of the investigation told E! News.

That’s unlikely to lessen the pain felt by the family.

“I hate you. You killed my daughter by turning her on to drugs…The day she married you was the worst day of my life.” Cissy screamed, according to a new report in The National Enquirer.

The tabloid infamously published photos of Whitney lying in her casket just before, or just after, a private viewing that was limited to family-members and very close friends. So, it definitely has a source in the Houston camp.

The latest story carries the byline of five reporters, who have been working the story. The tabliod reports the blowout took place in private after the 48-year-old singer died Feb. 11, on the eve of the Grammy Awards, at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.

The confrontation began when Brown asked to attend the open-casket viewing at the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, N.J. Cissy flatly refused. “She told Bobby, ‘It’s for family only. Whitney wouldn’t have wanted you there. None of us want you there,” the tabloid reported.

Although the couple divorced in 2007 after 14 years of marriage, the bitterness has lingered ever since. Whitney began using drugs heavily after her marriage, although various reasons have been given for her descent, including a possible lesbian relationship.

“You brought nothing but misery and pain to my daughter’s life. If it hadn’t been for you, she’d be alive today. You as good as murdered Whitney…Marrying you was the biggest mistake of her life!,” Cissy reportedly said.

Brown made a brief appearance at the televised funeral, but left almost immediately because he reportedly didn’t like the seating arrangements for his nine-member entourage, which inlcuded his fiancee and three children by other women.

But the visceral hate from Whitney’s close family and friends may have been too much for him to take.
