Singer Bobby Brown’s reportedly had an angry confrontation with Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, the day before his ex-wife and mother of his child was laid to rest earlier this month. It may explain his angry behavior at the funeral.
Brown and Cissy Houston reportedly met on the day before Whitney’s funeral Feb. 18 and had a blowout fight. Cissy put the blame squarely on Bobby for the superstar singer’s death.
Drugs and alcohol appear to be the cause, pending results of toxicology tests. The pop icon’s death, however, is expected to be ruled an accident, a source with knowledge of the investigation told E! News.
That’s unlikely to lessen the pain felt by the family.
“I hate you. You killed my daughter by turning her on to drugs…The day she married you was the worst day of my life.” Cissy screamed, according to a new report in The National Enquirer.
The tabloid infamously published photos of Whitney lying in her casket just before, or just after, a private viewing that was limited to family-members and very close friends. So, it definitely has a source in the Houston camp.
The latest story carries the byline of five reporters, who have been working the story. The tabliod reports the blowout took place in private after the 48-year-old singer died Feb. 11, on the eve of the Grammy Awards, at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
The confrontation began when Brown asked to attend the open-casket viewing at the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, N.J. Cissy flatly refused. “She told Bobby, ‘It’s for family only. Whitney wouldn’t have wanted you there. None of us want you there,” the tabloid reported.
Although the couple divorced in 2007 after 14 years of marriage, the bitterness has lingered ever since. Whitney began using drugs heavily after her marriage, although various reasons have been given for her descent, including a possible lesbian relationship.
“You brought nothing but misery and pain to my daughter’s life. If it hadn’t been for you, she’d be alive today. You as good as murdered Whitney…Marrying you was the biggest mistake of her life!,” Cissy reportedly said.
Brown made a brief appearance at the televised funeral, but left almost immediately because he reportedly didn’t like the seating arrangements for his nine-member entourage, which inlcuded his fiancee and three children by other women.
But the visceral hate from Whitney’s close family and friends may have been too much for him to take.

Give it up Cissy, Your daughter was on the whoop LONG before Mr. Telephone Man entered her life which was probably a PR move on your daughter’s camp in the first place. STOP trying to place blame to mask your hurt that your daughter had a lifestyle “SHE” allowed “HERSELF” to have. While I was a huge Fan of Whitney and continue to be a Huge Bobby Brown(New Edition) Fan, truth is truth and yes it hurts but it is what it was!
I think all this is speculation, but if this happened, I pray that Cissy can move on with her life and be healed by the grace of God. During times like these, everyone is highly emotional and wanting to place blame but that will not bring Whitney back. I was a huge fan of R&B singer Aaliyah and I could point the finger at the pilot, the plane company, her management for allowing her to fly on such a small and horrible looking plane but it won’t bring Aaliyah or the 8 people she died with back. People forget that God is God! When He calls you home, you have to answer to that call whether you want to or not. I know that if God did not believe Whitney’s work was done on this earth, she would have been revived. I miss her too, but I pray that her soul is at peace and that she is in the arms of God where there are no more addictions, no more rehearsals, no more performances, no more people trying to pull her down, no more fighting. Whitney is finally home. I also pray for Bobbi Kristina and that the grace of God will heal her as well.
I think that was ridiculous of Cissy to do that. I understand that it may have been all out of hurt, but how does Cissy know that Whitney wasn’t doing drugs before she and Bobby got married? Whitney may have told her differently, but in a parent’s humanness, of course we will buy anything that our children are saying. In a time like this, the family should be an advocate of “Just Say No.” Stop pointing the finger at this person and the next and remember the legacy that she leaves behind. Not only that, but the most important thing is keeping the mind, heart, and thoughts of Bobbi Kristina Houston-Brown. That baby needs them right now. Though my parents weren’t nearly as popular as Whitney, both where educators and very well known, and at her age, I lost both my parents, just 6 days apart.
Why the hell do people make comments about something for which they don’t know a damn thing about. Did you Whitney? Do you know Bobby? Are you a family member? Are a friend? No, so why are you commenting about whether Bobby did or did not have anything to do with Whitney’s drug abuse. Again, were you there? Mrs. Houston has every right to feel whatever way she feels. Whether its justified or not.
I just hope time heals your family, I feel for Mrs. Houston and Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown God bless you all,and may God wrap his arms around you and keep you safe, time is your best friend.lots of love,Annette
I just hope that the family begin to heal and more on because when it is your time there is no getting around it. Pray that Bobbi Kristina will stay close to the Lord and not fall into the same pit her was in and look for love in the wrong places. Keep a level head and keep her hand in Gods because he will never lead her a stray.
