Seacrest made the announcement himself over Twitter.
“This new year’s we’re partying like it’s 1989…my friend @TaylorSwift13 is coming to Times Square for @OfficialNYRE!” he wrote.
The show will give Swift a high-profile platform to showcase her latest songs from her new album 1989, which hit the streets this week.
Swift also appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” today (Oct. 27) to announce the winner of the show’s “Ultimate ‘Shake It Off’ With Taylor Swift Contest.”
The contest required fans to submit video performances of her hit song. Five girls from Winter Garden, Florida were announced as winners. They will be VIP guests at Swift’s ‘”Epic Taylor Swift 1989 Concert” Oct. 30 in Times Square.
The newly minted pop singer has increasingly has made New York City her home. In fact, she’s become an “ambassador” for the city’s tourism arm, NYC & Company.
She’s featured on the organization’s Web site nycgo.com in a promotional message. “Everywhere you look, it’s impossible not to fall in love or be affected by something in New York City.”
