Jason Statham has long been typecast as tough, gritty, violent vindicator in dozens of action thriller films and his staying true to form in his new movie, “Mutiny.”

There is one key difference that sets this film apart, however, it’s the first Statham is producing through his new company Punch Palace Productions.

The film has all the elements Statham is famous for. After his billionaire industrialist boss is murdered in front of him, his character, Cole Reed is set up to take the fall.

He goes on the lam and fights his way through one tough situation after another to uncover. His quest to avenge his boss’s death and exonerate himself uncovers an insidious international conspiracy.

English actress Annabelle Wallis, best known for roles as Jane Seymour in the period drama series “The Tudors” and the period drama series “Peaky Blinders,” will co-star.

She’ll be joined by Roland Møller, Ramon Tikaram, Arnas Fedaravičius, Jason Wong and Adrian Lester.

The casting of Møller as the film’s antagonist as well as Fedaravičius, and Lester was announced in last November.

Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis wrote the screenplay. Marc Butan and Statham are producers.

Statham and Lionsgate are no strangers; He’s starred in Lionsgate films, “The Expendables” movies, “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre,” “The Bank Job,” “The Crank” and the “Transporter” franchise, according to Deadline.

In the latest trailer, Statham is confronted on a dark street and immediately finds himself in a shootout. The bullets fly, Reed miraculously is unscathed and gets out of the jam with some sharp driving, possibly picked up by Statham in one of his “Fast and Furious” movies.

In a separate clip, Statham walks through the film set on a cargo ship and aptly declares “I ain’t seen nothin’ like it.”

Mutiny is scheduled to be released in the United States on Aug 21. Check out the trailers below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
