Scarlett Johansson openly asserted her support for embattled director Woody Allen with a stunning rebuke of allegations he sexually abused his step-daughter when she was seven years old.

Johansson is one of a handful of actresses to stand behind Allen following publication of a lengthy open letter in The New York Times by step-daughter Dylan Farrow. She laid out the alleged incidents of abuse in detail.

Johansson’s defense of Allen is particularly hypocritical after she called out James Franco at the 2018 Women’s March over allegations he took sexual advantage of students at his now defunct acting school.

“I love Woody,” Johansson told The Hollywood Reporter. “I believe him, and I would work with him anytime.”

“I see Woody whenever I can, and I have had a lot of conversations with him about it,” Johansson said.

“I have been very direct with him, and he’s very direct with me…it’s hard because it’s a time where people are very fired up, and understandably. Things needed to be stirred up, and so people have a lot of passion and a lot of strong feelings and are angry, and rightfully so. It’s an intense time.”

Shortly after Farrow published her letter, Johansson tried to distance herself from the controversy. She refused to comment, but offered a stinging rebuke of Farrow for appealing to actresses who have worked with Alllen by name in her letter.

“What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett? Louis CK? Alec Baldwin? What if it had been you, Emma Stone? Or you, Scarlett Johansson?” Farrow wrote.

Johansson comment was oblivious to Farrow’s deep hurt and sense of betrayal. Instead, she focused her concern on the actors Farrow dragged into the scandal.

“I think it’s irresponsible to take a bunch of actors that will have a Google alert on and to suddenly throw their name into a situation that none of us could possibly knowingly comment on,” she said in the interview with the UK’s Guardian newspaper.

Johansson has starred in three Allen films “Match Point,” “Scoop” and “Vicky Christina Barcelona.”

She said she would work with him again.

Other actors, notably Susan Sarandon, Colin Firth, Ellen Page, Selena Gomez, Michael Caine and Evan Rachel Wood, have apologized for working with him.

Freida Pinto, who starred in his 2010 movie “You Will Meet a Tall, Dark, Stranger” spoke out against the director in January. She said she was “sickened” by the allegations.

Blanchett lauded Allen after winning the Best Actress Oscar at the 2014 Academy Awards for her role in Allen’s film “Blue Jasmine.” She never mentioned Allen’s child-abuse allegations.

Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively and Miley Cyrus have also appeared in Allen’s films. Stewart, in a tone-deaf comment, likened Farrow’s charges to a tabloid allegation.

Although Stewart professes to be a “feminist,” she agreed to appear in Allen’s 2016 film, “Cafe Society,” and has refused to criticize the controversial director.

Sarandon shamed Stewart, Lively and other young actresses by speaking out against Allen at the 69th Cannes Film Festival. She called him a child molester.

Allen’s 49th film A Rainy Day in New York was recently dropped by Amazon Studios. Allen has sued Amazon for $68 million, referring to contract was axed over a “25-year-old, baseless allegation,” according to THR.

Johansson has been politically active in Hollywood and has vowed to support any candidate who opposes Donald Trump.

“I’ll be there however I’m needed,” she said.
