Kate Bosworth led a parade of admirers who attended the Museum of the Moving Image 28th Annual Salute, honoring Kevin Spacey last night in New York City. Spacey was lauded for his film work.

Bosworth, 31, has a special connection to the actor.

She co-starred in his 2004 biopic, “Beyond the Sea,” about 1950s and ’60s singer and actor Bobby Darin.

The film was one of Spacey’s personal projects. He co-wrote, directed, and co-produced the picture.

Bosworth co-starred as Sandra Dee, an actress and singer who married Darin in 1960. They divorced in 1967, but she never remarried.

Darin died in 1971 following open-heart surgery without regaining consciousness. He was 37 years old and had suffered from life-long problems with his heart related to a bout of rheumatic fever.

Kate who was at Spacey’s side on the red carpet wore a Giambattista Valli Couture dress and accessorized with Casadei pumps, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

Also spotted in the crowd were “Sex and the City’s” Kim Cattrall, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth.

In a bit of drama on the evening, museum co-chairman Herb Schlosser, 88, fainted as proceedings got underway. He was taken to the hospital, but Spacey reported from the dais that he was doing fine. The cause at the moment, is unknown.

The museum, located in Astoria, Queens, advances the understanding, enjoyment, and appreciation of the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media,” according to its Web site.

It screens more than 400 films a year from classic to contemporary movies and provides live music for silent films, just as they were shown when they were released.

Presenters at the event included Samuel L. Jackson (The Negotiator), Beau Willimon (House of Cards), Denis Leary (The Ref, Recount), Dana Brunetti (Beyond the Sea), Penn Badgley (Margin Call) and Chazz Palminteri (The Usual Suspects) and Kate.
