    Sotheby’s master paintings expert Christopher Apostle and celebrity designer Victoria Hagan shared their expertise on how to incorporate Old Masters artworks into modern design at the latest D&D building forum.

    The event was hosted by New York Cottages & Gardens Editor-in-Chief Kendall Cronstrom at Manhattan’s Decoration & Design Building in Manhattan.

    The event opened at the D&D Building’s Upper Story Café, followed by a multi-showroom reception hosted by Armani/Casa, Chesneys and Holland & Sherry A unique honey-whiskey based cocktail by Catskill Provisions was featured

    More than 200 Trade professionals heard the panel of experts discuss art and interior design and enjoyed up-close-and-personal views of four original master paintings.

    The works included Fede Galizia’s pair of a still life bowl and basket of fruit, Jan Brueghel The Elder, a wooded landscape. and Bartholomaus Zeitblom double portrait of an engaged couple.

    Notable attendees included designers Garrow Kedigian and Lisa Frantz and Editor Michael Boodro of Dering Hall.

    The event was the Decoration & Design Building’s first installment of their exclusive Designer Forum Series.

    Throughout the year, the DDB will be teaming up with leading experts of design and luxury to elevate the design conversation and provide added value to the interior design community.

    Upcoming events include “European Treasures, Discovered; Source Like The Experts” with The Antiques Diva, Toma Clark Haines and well-traveled designers Garrow Kedigian and Robert Passal

    They’ll share their secrets to touring and shopping the European antique markets with their clients.

    The building houses 130 showrooms, representing more than 3,000 leading manufacturers dedicated to the very best in residential and business interior furnishings, educational opportunities and resource information.

    The D&D Building is open exclusively to the trade and welcomes design industry professionals from all over the world.

    The building also incorporates Upper Story, situated on the 14th floor. The building’s scenic events venue, conference center and restaurant offers cuisine by celebrity chef and culinary icon, Charlie Palmer.

    The DDB, owned and operated by Charles S. Cohen, hosts two major Market events each year; one in the spring and one in the fall.

    The Markets, which are often held in partnership with the world’s top editorial voices and industry trade organizations, examine all aspects of design and the decorative arts.

    More than 2,000 design professionals and industry leaders attend these Market events.
