Oksana Grigorieva, who felt the full fury of Mel Gibson’s temper as his girlfriend, will talk about one of bitterest and most public breakups in Hollywood history at the Artists Against Abuse Gala on June 22nd in Bridgehampton.
Grigorieva, who bills herself as a domestic abuse survivor, will join other Hamptons domestic violence victims and supporters at the event, hosted by The Retreat, a comprehensive domestic violence services agency.
“You should never feel alone when you are in fear. I am very honored to be a part of the Artists Against Abuse. It is truly a cause that is close to my heart,” the Russian-trained musician said.
“Oksana’s brave and personal decision today to stand with The Retreat and speak out against domestic abuse is a testament to her resilience, added Retreat Executive Director Jeffrey Friedman.
Oddly, the group noted that Kelsey Grammer had previously attended The Retreat’s major annual summer fundraising bash. Grammer was involved in a messy divorce with ex-wife Camille Grammer over an affair.
Camille filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years in July 2010, after discovering his affair with a British flight attendant half his age. It took nearly two years after the divorce was settled to workout custody and property agreements involving nearly $60 million in assets.
Kelsey later married the attendant Kayte Walsh, who has since had a child.
Grigorieva has been active professionally. She released Love to Dance, a dance album with a “celebration vibe” earlier this month.
The event will a ’60s theme. It will take place at Ross Lower Campus Field House at 739 Butter Lane in Bridgehampton on Sat., June 22nd from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. Check out artistsagainstabuse to bid on auction items. Contact Hope Kramer at 631-329-4398 or email hkramer@theretreatinc.org for more info.
