Johnny Depp was here, there and everywhere at the Los Angeles premiere of his latest pirates movie “Dead Men Tell No Tales.” Despite a reputation for eccentricity, he went all in to make the fans, and movie execs happy, posing for photos and signing autographs with abandon.

Johnny could use a little adulation after a crushing year that included a highly publicized divorce from wife of 15 months Amber Heard.

Beside his messy divorce, which led to accusations he abused Heard, Depp has also been locked in a nasty legal battle with his former business managers over his finances. The ex-manager has accused the actor of recklessly burning through his money.

Fortunately, The “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series has been a steady money maker for Disney and for Depp, whose character, Captain Jack Sparrow, has become a movie icon.

Depp, 53, got a strong show of support on the red carpet from cast mate Orlando Bloom, who reprises his role in the film.

“The man that I know and love is the man who’s here tonight, and he’s like, on form and does everything the right way,” Bloom told reporters, calling Depp a “stand-up guy.”

“You know, people go through all kinds of weird stuff in the world and it’s just a shame that it has to be dragged out in public. Because, God knows he’s been one of the most private and stand-up people I’ve ever met,” the actor added.

Depp has been hitting the talk shows to promote the movie as well.

He appeared on Ellen recently and “bollixed” the talk show host’s effort to play 20 questions with him.

By the way, he said bollix is his favorite curse word.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” hits theaters over the Memorial Day weekend. It’s expected to be another blockbuster.
