Dev Patel (LionSlumdog Millionaire) battles evil forces in exotic India in his new action-thriller “Monkey Man.” The third “red band” trailer from the upcoming movie dropped today (Mar. 21)

The action thriller is about one man’s quest for vengeance against the corrupt leaders who murdered his mother and continue to systemically victimize the poor and powerless, according to the movie’s synopsis.

The film is inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage in Indian folklore.

Patel is “Kid,” in the movie, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club. Night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten to a bloody pulp, a fall guy for the more popular fighters.
